With Conan Unconquered due out right at the end of May, publisher Funcom and developer Petroglyph are fanning the hype flames with a new Conan Unconquered gameplay video. A mixture of gameplay footage and developer commentary, it takes a deeper look at what fans can expect from the upcoming title.
Dubbed a survival RTS, Conan Unconquered tasks players with defending their base from increasingly difficult waves of opponents. To that extent, they have a number of different tools that they can employ, although, the enemy isn’t lacking them either.
Conan Unconquered Gameplay Video
<p>
The Conan Unconquered gameplay video reveals that as time passes, enemy waves will pose different types of challenges to players. If at first, hero units such as Conan can hold their own against attackers, it won’t be long until you’ll have to deal with fire burning down your buildings, poisoned food supplies or enemy units coming in and stealing your gold.
Although there’s a lot of killing to be done in Conan Unconquered, you’ll have to be mindful about what you do with corpses. Not paying attention to them can easily result in disease spreading and weakening your units or, worse yet, enemy necromancers turning them into skeletons.
The Conan Unconquered gameplay video also reveals that classic RTS elements, such as resource gathering and research, will play a role in maintaining and upgrading your base, in order to make its defenses stronger. Although the game’s main focus would suggest a rather static experience, your heroes can also venture outside in order to kill guardians and obtain artifacts that make them more powerful. Oh, and in more desperate moments, you can summon a colossal avatar of Mitra to stomp out any opposition. Just make sure you keep it out of the way of your buildings, given its massive size and tendency to crush things underfoot.
