Conan Unconquered, the latest RTS from the makers of Command & Conquer and Star Wars: Empire At War, is due out on May 30 - and we can confirm a Conan Unconquered Steam release.
It should not be news that a PC game is coming to Steam, but in the wake of many Epic Games Store exclusivity deals - such as Phoenix Point and most recently Borderlands 3 - it's now a strong possibility others will follow. However, GameWatcher has confirmation from developers Petroglyph that Conan Unconquered will definitely launch on Steam.
GameWatcher spoke to Conan Unconquered designer Renato Orellana from Petroglyph at the EGX Rezzed, while we also got a hands-on with the game, and we asked him direct if the game was definitely coming to Steam. Renato confirmed that yes, Conan Unconquered will be available to buy and play on Steam when it releases next month.
The game is currently available to pre-order on Steam, and for Steam via other third-party sellers, but these days that's not longer confirmation that a game will actually come out on Steam. Metro Exodus was announced as an Epic Games Store exclusive just a few weeks before release, and came so late publisher Deep Silver had to cover up the Steam logo on the physical edition with a sticker. Ubisoft's The Division 2 remained available to pre-order on Steam until the game's release date, where it was pulled from Steam and other third-party sellers.
Conan Unconquered, at least, will not be joining our list of Epic Games Store exclusives and will launch on Steam on May 30. You can check out our impressions of Petroglyph's first survival RTS right here.
