Resident Evil collaborated with Dead By Daylight last year and it seems they aren’t nearly done there. Bringing some of Resident Evil 3’s most well-known characters and baddies, it seems the DLC was well liked at the time. Today, they have announced a brand new project coming later this year.
We now officially know a brand new Resident Evil Crossover is coming to Dead By Daylight. It is planned for launch later this year but not much else is known about it just yet. It promises more characters from the franchise but not much more. The trailer is just over 20 seconds long and shows a survivor running away from some villain in the distance, with cameras tracking their every move.
Dead By Daylight: Resident Evil Project W
Given a very prominent police car is in the way, it seems this collaboration is returning to Racoon City. It could potentially be any of the games set there or even tease a new game in the universe but it seems likely we will see Resident Evil 2 come to the game. Perhaps Dead By Daylight could enlist the brutish force of Mr X - showing frightening power at the expense of some speed. His special power could relate to his ability to appear and reappear around the map, or maybe even his ability to bust through walls.
This being said, we honestly have no clue what to expect next. The teaser could even be a red herring, playing into the surveillance angle to show you a brand new perspective at some other point. Despite this, the survivor appears to be grabbed by a tentacle of some kind, hinting at something else.
Whatever it is, we are sure to receive a release date sometime soon. Expect updates right here when it does.
