What is the cause of the Death Stranding PC stuttering issues? Why do they occur and is there anything that players can do to fix them?
Soon after Death Stranding’s PC port went live, players started reporting stuttering issues as they began their journey to reconnect the world. Existing reports mention both gameplay and cutscenes stuttering.
That being said, there doesn’t seem to be a consistent pattern for Death Stranding PC stuttering issues. While some players only encounter them during gameplay, others bump into them only in cutscenes or both. Similarly, players have found several fixes.
Death Stranding PC Stuttering Issues Fix
For some, the cause of Death Stranding’s PC stuttering issues is tied to a controller being plugged in and V-sync being activated.
In some cases, disabling controller vibration or unplugging the controller works as a fix. If that doesn’t work, you can try both while having V-sync deactivated.
Another potential fix for Death Stranding’s PC stuttering issues simply involves pausing and unpausing the game or turning shadows down to medium.
Turning off DLSS has also solved the stuttering for some, while in other cases it simply went away after playing the game for a while.
Naturally, depending on your PC’s configuration, you’ll want to fiddle with the game’s graphical settings as one of them could be the cause of stuttering on your PC.
It’s likely that Death Stranding’s PC stuttering issues will be fixed in an upcoming patch, as the team behind the title goes over existing reports.
