Since it’s an immersive sim, you wouldn’t immediately put Deathloop on a list of multiplayer games. But Arkane’s latest title does come with a PvP component, which begs the question if crossplay or cross-platform support is also included.
Deathloop’s PvP manifests itself in the shape of Invasions that see Colt having to deal with Julianna on top of the army of Eternalists and other Visionaries that may be present in the area he’s currently pushing through. Julianna can be controlled by the AI or by players on and off your friends list, – depending on which option you choose –, which is where crossplay would come in handy.
Deathloop Crossplay
Deathloop cross-platform support was not available at launch. It then continued to be missing in action for the first year of the game’s lifespan.
On September 15, 2022, Developer Arkane revealed that the title was its way to Xbox on September 20. On the same day, the free Goldenloop update goes live, Deathloop cross-platform support counting among its features.
- Deathloop Crossplay status: Available starting with September 20, 2022
“The GOLDENLOOP Update also introduces crossplay for PvP matchmaking across PSN, Xbox, Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store environments,” reads a post on publsiher Bethesda’s website. “You can set your Cross-Platform Matchmaking setting to Any (all platforms) or Same (just your platform), and you can also set your Cross-Platform Matchmaking controller to Any (all controller types) or Same (just the one you’re using).”
