Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has recently surpassed 1 million units sold on Steam. Following this milestone, Funday Games, the developer, is eager to share further information about the newly released Salt Pits Biome, a key update in the 2024 roadmap.
Ghost Ship Publishing has outlined plans for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor to remain in early access for 6 to 12 months before launching its 1.0 version. In the build-up to release, the game will expand to include more modes, mission modifiers, weapon overclocks, and a broader array of enemies to defeat during missions. There will be an endless mode, stage events, cargo crates, daily missions, and more.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Salt Pits Biome
Players can look forward to venturing deeper into the depths of Hoxxes IV with the addition of the Salt Pits Biome coming soon to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. The new biome should launch on the 20th March, Funday Games has told us it’s part of the larger content roadmap scheduled for 2024.
The Salt Pits will mark the fourth biome introduced to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, enabling all dwarf classes to use the environment as a weapon. Players can strategically target specific stalagmite clusters, causing sharp stalactites to fall and damage the bugs below.
Additionally, players will face Q’ronar Younglings, a particularly annoying bug known for its superior ability to roll away from danger and do a nasty bit of damage in the process.
Before, in our original reporting, we mentioned that the Huuli Hoarders would make their appearance in the game. These elusive, slippery bugs would have dropped a bounty of precious minerals. Funday Games has since responded to us to say that the information it provided was incorrect and that the Huuli Hoarders will not be available in next week’s update.
Three new artifacts have been added:
- New Artifact: The MoCap - Increases your damage by 1% for every % of missing HP
- New Artifact: Salty Pretzel - Increases your armor by 1 for every 2% of missing HP
- New Artifact: Miner’s Manual - +10% damage, +10% reload speed, +5% crit chance, +20% crit damage
The full list of changes can be seen here.
All players will be able to try out the Salt Pits when it launches alongside the next patch on Wednesday the 20th of March. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of Deep Rock Galactic: Survival are expected when it exits early access sometime in 2025.
