Earlier in June, Taiwanese developer Red Candle Games announced that it would release a limited physical edition of its notorious horror game Devotion, but only in Taiwan.
Fans outside of the developer’s home country were happy to see Devotion returning but the lack of an international counterpart to the limited physical edition quickly let disappointment set in. Developer Red Candle Games is, however, looking into eventually making the game available once more to a global audience.
“We really appreciate the support of our international players. Currently, the team is working our best effort to seek chances and possibilities to fulfill international fans’ anticipation.”, PR Director Tiff Liu told PC Gamer.
Devotion Developer Exploring Options for Western Re-Release
Red Candle Games is also open to working with a western publisher for a global re-release of Devotion. “We are always open to any sort of cooperation. As long as the cooperation is rewarding for both parties and that the end result is satisfying for our players, we are willing to explore all kinds of possibilities.”, Liu said.
Although it’s being considered, a global re-release of Devotion will likely not happen too soon. The developer is currently focusing on the Taiwan-only physical edition of the horror title but also its third game, which it plans to release globally.
