Since its notorious announcement during BlizzCon 2018, Diablo: Immortal’s development has quietly moved forward, so much so that we will get to experience the mobile game’s full version in the first half of 2022. With Diablo 4 making us wait longer for the next mainline entry in the series, many players might be wondering if its mobile spin-off might have a PC release date attached to it.
Diablo: Immortal’s PC release date was actually brought up during BlizzCon 2018, but the answer given then by the developers was negative. While the mobile title was met with quite a bit of initial backlash, a potential PC release was often brought up in threads across forums and discussion boards, which may have some players hoping that an eventual port might happen.
Diablo Immortal PC Release Date
For a good while, Diablo Immortal went on without as much as a word regarding a potential PC release date, which was bound to disappoint those looking for an in-universe alternative to Diablo 3.
Blizzard and NetEase were seemingly focused solely on the game’s mobile launch, but that changed in April 2022, when Diablo Immortal’s PC release date was announced, surprising everyone.
- Diablo Immortal PC release date: June 2, 2022 (open beta)
Diablo Immortal’s PC version will launch in open beta on June 2, 2022, alongside its mobile counterparts, with support for both crossplay and cross-progression.
As far as control schemes go, you can opt for a controller or the good old PC and keyboard. The latter features options both for moving your character using the mouse, as you’re likely used to if you’ve played previous games in the series, or the WASD buttons.
Diablo Immortal is the biggest game in the franchise, according to the developer, featuring six character classes and eight zones to explore through its main story.
The title will be free-to-play and will benefit from the same content cadence as its mobile version.
