The Division 2 will, as per information we've had for a while now, receive the majority of its DLC at no additional cost to the players, but there was some confusion about this since Ubisoft also announced that the game would be getting a fully-fledged season pass, too.
The Division 2 Year One Pass information has now finally been revealed, and though it's not as much to go on as we had hoped for, it does shine some light on how Ubisoft intends to monetise The Division 2 post-launch.
What will The Division 2 Year One Pass Contain?
Year One Pass information has been included as part of The Division 2's Ubisoft Store page, where a single sentence summarises what's included in the season pass. It's going to provide buyers with early access to so-called Episodes, as well as exclusive cosmetics and other assorted stuff:
- 7-day early access to all Year 1 Episodes
- instant access to all Year 1 Specialisations as they release
- 8 classified Assignments (The Fall of DC)
- exclusive cosmetics
- additional in-game activities
In other words, The Division 2 Season Pass holders will seemingly get to play some of the upcoming free DLC earlier than other players will, as well as instant access to endgame specialisations (which Ubisoft clearly intends to create more of) as they are released. It remains to be seen what the mentioned Assignments and additional activities are, but hopefully they're not entirely locked behind the Season Pass purchase.
