Crafting can come to your aid when Dying Light 2’s Villedor gets a little too dangerous. Grasping how to obtain craft parts but also purchase and upgrade blueprints will make sure that Aiden has all the tools he needs in the fight against the infected.
Dying Light 2’s crafting system isn’t overly complicated. It all starts with craft parts, which go into making various items. You can obtain these both from vendors – in exchange for money – and containers all over the world.
They’re one of the reasons why you may want to delve into facilities that can only be (relatively) safely accessed at night.
Dying Light 2 Crafting and Blueprints Guide
There are a few exceptions when it comes to Dying Light 2’s craft parts, as some of them are only found in specific spots. You’ll mainly find honey and chamomile – required to craft medicine – around Nightrunner’s Hideouts and on certain rooftops.
Old military tech, which is a resource used to upgrade Nightrunner Tools such as the paraglider, can be grabbed exclusively from military airdrops.
Stocking up on craft parts is, however, just one piece of the puzzle. To fully unlock the potential of Dying Light 2’s crafting system, you’ll have to get your hands on blueprints.
These can solely be purchased from Craftmasters which you can spot on the map thanks to their hammer and wrench icon. You’ll usually find them in settlements.
Craftmasters also sell craft parts and are the sole way to upgrade your blueprints. After you’ve purchased them, speak to any such NPC, then navigate to the upgrade tab at the top of the screen. Hover over any individual blueprint and you’ll get a breakdown of how much upgrading it costs.
While you cannot upgrade blueprints without a Craftmaster, you can make items in the Crafting menu at any point, as long as you have the required resources. Worrying about running out of ammo or lockpicks is the last thing you’d need while knee-deep in infected.
