Evil Genius 2 is out now, letting players fulfill their dreams of world domination at the expense of many unfortunate yet expendable minions. But if you’ve tried launching the game using Windows 7, you might be wondering whether the old operating system might not be supported.
While the majority of users have migrated to Windows 10, either using the free upgrade offered by Microsoft in the past or by simply purchasing it, some players interested in Evil Genius 2 have stuck to Windows 7. The question of whether or not the game is supported comes from a widespread inability of launching it.
Windows 8.1 users are also reporting issues with launching the game and it does, indeed, look like Evil Genius 2 is not supported on both it and Windows 7.
The game’s system requirements only list Windows 10 as a supported operating system. The fact that it won’t run on older ones is confirmed on a dedicated Rebellion Help Centre page, which reads as follows: “Evil Genius 2 requires Windows 10 and will not function on unsupported operating systems.”
Simply put, if you plan on playing Evil Genius 2, you’ll have to switch to Windows 10, as Windows 7 is not supported. For more help with Rebellion’s latest game, also check out our guides on console commands and mod support.
