Publisher and developer Square Enix has announced the start and end dates of Final Fantasy 14’s The Rising event 2021, also revealing the rewards that players who complete its associated quest can earn.
FFXIV’s The Rising event 2021 continues the yearly tradition of celebrating the MMORPG’s relaunch as A Realm Reborn. Released in 2013, it remains one of the biggest turnarounds in the genre – if not the whole gaming space – redeeming Final Fantasy 14 after a disappointing initial launch.
Final Fantasy 14’s The Rising event 2021 has locked down its start date to August 27 at 12 AM PT/ 3 AM ET/8 AM BST. It is set to last until September 9 at 7:59 AM PT/10:59 AM ET/3:59 PM BST, when its end date occurs. This gives players almost a full two weeks to grab the pair of new rewards introduced this year. Keen-eyed readers will also notice that it begins right after the Moonfire Faire 2021 event concludes.
Players who’ve hit level 15 will need to head to the Steps of Nald in Ul’dah and look for an NPC named Kipih Jakkya, who is located at coordinates X:10.0, Y:8.7. Interacting with her will let you pick up the quest Rising Calm, which starts the whole event.
Completing it gets you the Red Moon Parasol and Nymeia Potpourri cosmetic items as rewards. Where the former is a white parasol decorated with a red version of the Final Fantasy 14 logo, the latter lets you cast a green (and very flowery) circle in front of you, as depicted above.
