Forever Skies is set to launch out of early access later this year. Although Far From Home, the developers, have not specified an exact release date, it has been announced that the game will debut on PlayStation 5 as a console exclusive.
During a Q&A session in November 2023, the developer of Forever Skies hinted at a multi-console release, using a plural wording for consoles, though specific platforms were not confirmed.

It did seem at the time that Xbox versions would be considered, and it’s possible that this deal with Sony could be a timed exclusive, but we’ve reached out to Far From Home for clarification.
Forever Skies is slated to make its debut on the PlayStation 5 in 2024, coinciding with its launch out of early access. Should it be a timed exclusive, Xbox platforms may have to wait until 2025 or 2026 to receive it, but this all depends upon the terms of the agreement with Sony.
“Far From Home has teamed up with PlayStation to focus on making Forever Skies the best it can be for its console debut.” said Andrzej Blumenfeld, Forever Skies Gameplay Lead.
“So, at the end of PC Early Access when we’re ready to release the full game, we’ll be launching it on PlayStation 5 for consoles.”
Blumenfeld was quick to point out that this will not affect the PC version currently in Early Access, as it will be getting its next update in March / April 2024, which adds the next story chapter, complex airship gardening systems, new locations, and new equipment.
“Worry not though, this will not affect the ongoing development or release of the Steam version which will come out at the same time.” Blumenfeld said.
Forever Skies will support both single-player and up to 4-player co-op when it launches.
