Publisher Team17 and developer Black Matter have announced that Update 8 for their World War II multiplayer first-person shooter Hell Let Loose is now live.
Titled Red Ball Express, Hell Let Loose’s Update 8 brings an overhauled logistics system, introducing 12-player transport trucks and supply vehicles that help move troops and resources faster around the battlefield.
The Engineer class is now more versatile, gaining the ability to craft bunkers and barricades. This allows it to provide much needed cover for allies.

Update 8 also comes with improvements to Hell Let Loose’s bullet penetration system. The type of ammunition and range from which it is shot now impact its effect on different materials.
Hurtgen Forest – a map that Early Access veterans have seen quite a bit of – has also received some love.
It now features “clearings for an improved field of fire, varied terrain across the map, and a greater opportunity for cover,” thanks to a recent overhaul.
The new unit designation feature introduced in the Red Ball Express update allows officers to more clearly communicate the role of their units to allies.
Hell Let Loose’s explosions are also prettier and sound better, which is always a plus in games centered on warfare.
