While exploring the game files for Helldivers 2, modders have discovered hidden content not currently accessible in the game, including mechs, the commando rocket launcher, and the Trench Wall Stratagem.
Modder John Helldiver has made all this content playable in Helldivers 2, so players can now take command of both mech suits, drive around in the Lav and Recon vehicles, and gain access to even more weapons and Stratagem.
Stratagems consist of the weapons and equipment you can unlock by completing operations in Helldivers 2. You have the option to upgrade or unlock new ones at the Ship Management Terminal.
Helldivers 2 Unreleased Content V1 Mod unlocks Mechs
The Unreleased Content V1 Mod can be downloaded from NexusMods.
Creator John Helldiver says that they’ve found more hidden stratagems, but couldn’t add access to them because the weapons or vehicles became unstable during testing.
Both Mech Suits, the LAV and Recon vehicles, The Commando Rocket Launcher, and the Trench Wall all worked when testing.
Unfortunately, if you use this mod, the following Stratagems will be removed:
- 'Guard Dog' (machine gun)
- Recoilless Rifle
- Eagle Napalm
- Expendable anti-tank
- Incendiary Mine Deployer
There’s a warning that when using vehicles, lobby members could see crashes, but John says that it’s 50/50 if this happens.
Arrowhead Game Studios says that pilotable mechs will be included in a future free update. However, for those who can’t wait, this mod offers quick access.
