Just Cause 4 is available for free this week on the Epic Games Store, however, some players are reporting being unable to play the title due to it crashing on startup.

While there currently is no universal fix for Just Cause 4 crashing on startup with the Epic Games Store, some players have had success starting the game by disconnecting from the internet or blocking the game’s connection to the internet from Windows Firewall.
Publisher Square Enix has also taken to Reddit, asking players for their PC specs and account information, in an attempt to figure out why the Epic Games Store version of Just Cause 4 crashes on startup.
Epic Games has also acknowledged the issue and is currently “investigating”. It’s hard to tell, at this point, where the issue stems from.
As a temporary fix, it’s worth trying to play Just Cause 4 on the Epic Games Store after you’ve disconnected your internet.
