Publisher XSEED Games and developer SHADE Inc. have announced that Kandagawa Jet Girls now has a release date. The jet racing game is slated for an August 25 release on both PC and PS4.
Set in a near-future version of Tokyo, Kandagawa Jet Girls follows one of seven two-girl racing teams as they compete against each other. These aren’t your ordinary jet ski races, though.
Where one member of the team – known as the Jetter – handles steering to avoid the obstacles spread across the course, the Shooter uses different weapons to make the opponents’ life harder and send them off the track. Additionally, they can also pull off stylish moves while in mid-air.
Kandagawa Jet Girls PC Launch
Each of Kandagawa Jet Girls’ seven teams has its own story multi-episode story arc that develops over the story mode’s total of 64 episodes, featuring “lighthearted racing drama”.
If you’re less about the drama behind the story and more about competition, Kandagawa Jet Girls also features four-player online multiplayer modes alongside a Time Attack mode.
You’ll be able to customize the members of your team with different hairstyles and swimsuits as well as their jet ski with decals, skins and “special effects”.
Senran Kagura fans will also recognize sisters Ryōbi and Ryōna who join Kandagawa Jet Girls’ core roster. Asuka and Yumi, the leaders of the Gessen Girls’ Academy and Hanzō National Academy will be introduced as premium post-launch DLC.
Additional characters from the Senran Kagura series, including Ikaruga and Yomi, Homura and Hikage, and Murasaki and Mirai, will also join the roster later, as part of the Senran Kagura Character Pass, priced at $29.99.
Kandagawa Jet Girls’ standard edition will be priced at $49.99 or your regional equivalent. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available for $59.99, containing on PC the base game, the full soundtrack, and the Maid Bikini (Lemon Yellow) and Bunny Costume (Carrot Orange) character outfits.
