Silent Hill publisher Konami and The Medium developer Bloober Team today announced that they “have signed a strategic cooperation agreement” which will see the companies collaborating on future projects.
Konami and Bloober Team’s collaboration targets “the development of contents and the exchange of know-how,” according to a spokesperson at Konami. Although the announcement didn’t come paired with any details about what games we might expect, it will likely reignite hopes for a new Silent Hill game among the series’ fans.
“We are excited to work with Bloober Team and other highly regarded development partners to produce games from existing and new IPs,” Konami told GameWatcher when asked if the Polish developer was working on a game based on one of its IPs.
The publisher will also “continue to explore partnerships with a variety of development companies as well as continue in-house development of key projects among our own teams, as we have done for many years.”
Rumors that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill game have been floating around the internet for a while now and today’s announcement is bound to fuel the flame of speculation over the coming months.
Konami “will announce information about contents from the business alliance once details are decided,” so it might be a while before we learn any specifics. Incidentally, this gives you enough time to try out The Medium’s blend of modern and classic survival horror elements, which secured it a spot on the list of the best PC games we’ve played this year.
