Here’s where we’ll explain everything that’s changing and being added with League of Legends Patch 11.17.
League of Legends Patch 11.17 is on its way to the PBE for the traditional two-week round of testing. During this time, players can get a first look at the newest cosmetics that developer Riot Games has cooked up for the MOBA’s champions as well as upcoming balance and system changes.
A look at its patch notes reveals its release date alongside the addition of several elegant Crime City Nightmare and Phoenix skins.
Riot Games updates its popular MOBA at a steady rate, which is why its patch schedule is necessary to keep track of when the next one’s due out. The LoL Patch 11.17 release date is set for Wednesday, August 25, which is when the changes that make it through testing hit live servers.
League of Legends Patch 11.17
League of Legends Patch 11.17 brings a total of eight new skins for existing champions, this time belonging to two different lines. On the PBE, players can try out Crime City Nightmare Akali (1350 RP), Crime City Nightmare Darius (1350 RP), Crime City Nightmare Shaco(1350 RP), Crime City Nightmare Twisted Fate (1350 RP), Crime City Nightmare Zyra (1350 RP) Divine Phoenix Anivia, Graceful Phoenix Seraphine, and Brave Phoenix Xayah.
The turnarounds below showcase each character model, giving a good idea of the mafia-inspired theme of the former and the more fantasy-driven focus of the latter skin line.
The LoL 11.17 maintenance schedule is always revealed closer to launch. Usually, it takes about 3 hours for patches to be deployed across different regions. Checking our League of Legends Server Status article is a good way to keep yourself informed on server downtime caused by patch deployment or other reasons.
Riot Games has upgraded the Chromium version used by the MOBA’s client, asking players looking into League 11.17’s changes on the PBE to offer feedback, should they spot anything not working as intended.
LoL Patch 11.17’s first set of balance changes target Amumu with the express goal of making the champion better in higher MMRs. Lead Game Designer Jeevun Sidhu notes that the changes currently in testing come from a “very large” performance disparity.
Lucian is also in the crosshairs, being set to have his base AD reduced but gain some extra synergy with allies. Akshan’s E could also get a damage nerf, while Tahm Kench has to wait slightly more before recasting Devour.
The traditional League 11.17 patch preview has now been shared. Graves, Ireila, Zed, and a few others are in line to be nerfed, while Lissandra, Teemo, and Nami count among the champions that will receive buffs this patch.

A few systems changes, champion adjustments, and a light set of buffs/nerfs that are a bit more solo queue focused for now, since there is no pro play on this patch.
