Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings a swathe of improvements to the acclaimed trilogy, and especially the first game in the series, but without touching the core elements that made the RPGs so memorable. Speaking of familiar things, players have discovered that one particular XP glitch is also alive and well.
The Liara’s Dig Site XP glitch was quite popular back in the day and is showing an impressive amount of persistence, as Mass Effect Legendary Edition players can still make use of it. We’re not sure if this slipped by developer Bioware or if it was intentionally left in, but you can read on below for a reminder on how it works.
Once you reach Therum and find Liara trapped inside her dig site, you’re going to have to use a giant laser to free her. This is your opportunity to use the Mass Effect Legendary Edition XP glitch.
You’ll need to complete a simple puzzle to fire the laser. Essentially, you need to interact with a nearby console and figure out which buttons you need to press. You’ll know you got the right one when the middle circle lights up green. A bit of trial and error should eventually see you through.
Once the laser starts firing, keep an eye on the lower right side of your screen. As soon as the cutscene ends, a message should pop up letting you know that you’ve been awarded experience. This is when you’ll want to save the game as quickly as possible, then load up your save.
The experience bonus should stack infinitely, as far as you can stick with the tedious process of saving and loading your game repeatedly. That’s how the Mass Effect Legendary Edition XP Glitch at Liara’s Dig Site works.
It’s worth keeping in mind that some people are having trouble getting to level 30 using it, under the Legendary level scaling. It’s not clear if this is an issue that appears when using the glitch or with Legendary level scaling itself.
