Throwing established characters into new games via modding is almost tradition at this stage. Is your game worth anything if some childhood or adulthood favorite hasn’t replaced an existing character?
The Callisto Protocol may be getting a mixed reception since its launch. Still, it has already found itself graced with new playable character skins that replace Josh Duhamel with some horror icons. The first Callisto Protocol Mods are now live.
The Callisto Protocol Mods add Leon Kennedy and Daryl Dixon
On Nexus Mods, you can download player character skins for The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus, no stranger to games himself) or Resident Evil 2’s unlucky rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy.
They are two of the more popular mods for The Callisto Protocol, and will likely not be the only famous characters to be made moddable. Beyond character skins, the most popular mods for the game appear to be one that disables the game’s intro videos entirely and, of course, mods for boosting the visuals.
Given how contentious The Callisto Protocol has proven to be, mod support could well end up ‘fixing’ some of the issues people have had with the game, that’s if developer Striking Distance Studios doesn’t do so in the meantime.
Once the game is fixed and we can play it properly, Nick Akerman will be bringing you our verdict with his review. Stay tuned for our review soon, and enjoy these mods.
