<a href=”https://www.gamewatcher.com/games/monster-hunter-stories-2-wings-of-ruin”</a>Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin</a> is quite a long game, it turns out. While that means that you can sink your teeth in a vast amount of content, you’ll also want to save your progress regularly, to make sure your freshly collected Monsties don’t disappear into the digital ether.
Since you can sacrifice some of your Monsties to improve others, having multiple save slots would also be ideal, in case you decide, hours after the fact, that the one Paolumu you parted ways with was, indeed, the goodest boi. Here’s what you need to know about how to save your game in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
You get access to the first method of saving your game in Monster Hunter Stories 2 fairly early on. As soon as you can freely walk around Mahana Village and get access to your house, you can interact with the bed inside, which gives you the option to save. This applies to most hub areas, too, and you’ll return to them fairly frequently to turn in quests, craft equipment, and stock up.
The other method, and likely the one you’ll use the most, are Catavan Stands found across the world. They’re marked on the map with a paw icon and unlocked by interacting with them once. Not only can you use them to save your game while out in the field, but they also double as convenient fast travel points.
Navirou will usually let you know when you’re near one. They’re also found inside Felyne Burrows, with the caveat that these stands act exclusively as save points. Three save slots are available for the above methods. It’s a bit of a restrictive number, but nonetheless better than having none at all.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin also has an autosave feature that saves progress regularly in a dedicated fourth slot. For more on the game, check out our review.
