<a href=”https://www.gamewatcher.com/news/my-time-at-sandrock-release-date”</a>My Time at Sandrock’s</a> multiplayer mode is without a doubt one of its most anticipated features and, as its full launch draws near, players want to know if co-op allows them to build and delve into dungeons alongside their friends.
My Time at Sandrock multiplayer has been confirmed for a while now, developer Pathea Games explaining that it planned on using the early access period to test the feature. This is understandable, since it is new territory for the studio, and has been further expanded upon in a recent Reddit post.
My Time at Sandrock Multiplayer Co-op
“The early access version released on May 26 does not include the multiplayer mode. We are planning to test the multiplayer once or twice this summer. But we’re still working on the details on how to register it (may not open for everyone at the early beta testing stage), please keep your eyes on us, and we’ll let you know more about the multiplayer testing later,” it reads.
“Once the multiplayer gets stable, we will open a time-limited public test to all early access users. All in all, the multiplayer is estimated to be added to Sandrock later this year.”

My Time at Sandrock’s co-op mode was initially meant to come with “multiplayer-specific world with missions and storylines” that saw players working and delving into dungeons together as well as a story of its own.
In the developer’s words, it could be treated “as an alternative compressed timeline that chronicles what happens before the player arrives in Sandrock in single-player.”
As development progressed, developer Pathea games realized that “the direction we were going in just wasn’t meeting expectations and ran a high risk of not being completed by the launch of the game,” as detailed in this post from May 2023.
“It became obvious that for what we set out to do, a unique multiplayer story that lasts 30 hours, we weren’t capable of inputting the necessary resources to make it happen in time.”
Replayability was also a concern in the original vision for My Time at Sandrock’s co-op mode, which is why the team decided to shift direction.
“The gameplay loop is now revolved around 4 players building up the town of Sandrock through all means necessary in a more sandbox type of gameplay,” it explains in the post linked above.
“You’ll gain points whether you’re building, or fighting, or dating, or even playing mahjong. And all the points will help with leveling up and opening more gameplay options. Building houses and completing tasks will also allow new NPCs to move into town.”
Dynamic leveling has also been added to My Time at Sandrock’s multiplayer mode, its release date now being slated to occur on September 26, 2023, when the game leaves early access.
That is what we know so far about My Time at Sandrock’s co-op mode. For more help with the game, here’s whether or not it will benefit from GeForce Now support on day one.
