Publishing Label Paradox Arc and developer Game River have announced that it will take its RTS Auto Battler Mechabellum out of early access and into 1.0 on 26th September.
Mechabellum is like a sci-fi version of chess, as you oversee command of your armies from a top-down view, strategically placing your units onto the battlefield as you watch them rip apart your enemies. You can face AI or human opponents.
Here’s an overview from Paradox:
Mechabellum is a rewarding tactical wargame where you gain victory by constantly adapting your strategy and outthinking your opponents. Command a varied mechanized army in a battle against human or AI opponents, customize your units and strategically place them on the battlefield to watch them destroy your enemies.
From the nimble Wasp light aircraft to the massive, flame-wielding Vulcan, learn the strengths and weaknesses of a large number of unique units. Customize them and their abilities before and during battles to maximize their destructive power. Anticipate your enemy and strategically place your mechs on the battlefield. Counter your opponent’s moves by choosing the perfect unit combination, loadout and positioning as the battle unfolds.
Game River hasn’t said much about version 1.0, other than early access rewards will be carried over to the full release, so you can keep any progress you’ve made. There will be special rewards for people who played the early access build, mostly unit skins.
You can find Mechabellum on Steam. Check out the announcement trailer below.
