Publisher and developer Grinding Gear Games has announced Path of Exile: Legion, the free-to-play ARPG’s upcoming expansion, also revealing its June release date.

In Path of Exile: Legion, players will find Timeless Monoliths as they journey across Wraeclast. Interacting with them reveals soldiers taking part in the eternal conflict and dealing damage untethers them from the Monoliths. This gives players a choice regarding how risky they want each of these encounters to be, given how more powerful enemies drop valuable items.
These enemies will belong to one of five legions and drop splinters, which can form an emblem of said legion. Placing two emblems belonging to different legions in your map device unlocks the Domain of Timeless Conflict, while an upgraded map device will send you to the “ultimate conflict between all five Legions”.
Path of Exile: Legion will also introduce new items and jewels and build archetypes in the form of the Blood and Sand Gladiator which can dynamically alter their skills by changing stances. The long-awaited melee combat revamp will also go live once the expansion’s June release date comes by. Melee characters will be able to cancel attack animations after dealing damage, while all movement skills become instant. Every melee attack will also hit multiple adjacent targets and the animation system has been overhauled.
Path of Exile: Legion will also rebalance a number of early game monsters, giving them a wind-up period to their poorly signaled attacks. The expansion’s PC release date is set for June 7. Check out all the details on the game’s website.
