PlayStation Plus Essential is the base tier of Sony’s subscription service for PlayStation consoles, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It gives you access to key online features, such as online multiplayer, monthly downloadable games, exclusive store discounts, and cloud storage for saved data, for £6.99/$9.99 monthly, £19.99/$29.99 for three months, or £49.99/$79.99 annually.
At the start of every month, Sony Interactive Entertainment announces the list of games you can redeem from the service and keep as long as your subscription remains. At least three games are typically given out monthly across PS4, PS5, and PSVR 2.
We will provide you with a complete list on this page for each month so you can track what Sony is giving out each year. First up is January 2025’s list of games, which will go live on 7th January:
PlayStation Plus Games List for January 2025
- Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
- Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered
- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
From Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the Batman: Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a third-person action shooter in which the ultimate band of misfits must do the impossible to save the world. Join the newly “recruited” members of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X (aka the Suicide Squad), Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, as they set out on an impossible mission to Kill the Justice League. Playable on PS5.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered
Feel the thrill of the chase and the rush of escape in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered on PS4. Unleash a savage sense of speed as an outlaw and a cop in the world’s hottest high-performance cars. Outsmart the heat or take down lawbreakers with the tactical weaponry at your disposal in a heart-pumping, socially competitive racing experience. Playable on PS4 and PS5.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a first-person exploration game. It is an expanded reimagining of the critically acclaimed, award-winning indie game The Stanley Parable from 2013. When a simple-minded individual named Stanley discovers that the co-workers in his office have mysteriously vanished, he sets off to find answers.
You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will make a choice and have your choices taken from you. The game will end; it will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction. The rules of how games should work are broken and then broken again. You are not here to win. The Stanley Parable is a game that plays you. Playable on PS4 and PS5.
PlayStation Plus members will have until January 6 to add It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem to their game libraries. These games were added in December 2024. Check back soon to find out about February’s editions.
