The latest SCUM Patch Notes are now available. There's a bit of stagnation going on in the sub-genre of battle royales. All we've been getting so far are different skins of what is essentially the same game. It would seem, however, that SCUM is a tiny bit different, if only for the fact that it's attempting to pull off something new and unproven.
Headed by Gamepires and Croteam of Serious Sam fame, this project is trying to combine hardcore RPG stat management and survivalist features with dynamic battle royale gameplay, and it's only recently been released via Early Access.
SCUM Patch Update 0.1.16.8320 Released
This latest patch from Croteam improves server optimizations, problems with the server listings, the bird sounds are now better, landscape bugs, players can now commit suicide from ESC menu, crafting error fixes, eggs can no longer be eaten an infinite amount of times, unfortunately, and much more. You can check out the full patch notes here.
If you're curious about SCUM, and are interested in becoming one of the titular heroes, the game is currently priced at €16,79 on Steam, which is a bit of a steal for a "next generation, story driven survival game featuring extremely complex game mechanics and unrevealed survival features," right?
