Secret Agent Clank has been spotted in a promotional PS+ Email sent out to subscribers, but there’s been no confirmation from Sony yet.
High Impact Games released Secret Agent Clank for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) on June 17, 2008. The PlayStation 2 version followed on May 26, 2009 in North America. It didn’t come to Europe until June 19, 2009.
We didn’t see the email ourselves, but Radec was eagle-eyed and shared their findings on social platform X, formerly Twitter, showing the email that mentions the game, as it’s currently not available on the service.
The thought is that this might lead to more Ratchet and Clank games appearing on the service soon, although we’ve heard in the past that the franchise on PS2 is quite difficult to emulate because of the way they were designed. The series has always taken advantage of the full capabilities of the hardware it was on, and this can make emulation very difficult even for high-end hardware like the PlayStation 5.
The PSP version isn’t as hard to get your hands on even today, it’s still very affordable and is on the PS Vita and PS3 stores, but the PlayStation 2 version is becoming more collectible.
Hopefully, we see Secret Agent Clank added to the PlayStation Plus catalog in August. We will be looking out for it.
