Sins of New Eden: Rebirth, a conversion mod that brings a slice of Eve Online to sci-fi strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, has now made its first public release available to any players of the 9-year old title that might be looking to spice things up a bit.
If you’ve been following Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion’s mod scene for a while, chances are you’ve run into Sins of New Eden: Rebirth at some point. The project has been floating around for a number of years prior to sharing its first public release, that currently carries the early access label.
Developer Cyno Studios built the mod with “overall realism” in mind, which is why Sins of New Eden: Rebirth “is 100% based off of EVE’s mechanics & fittings.”
Sins of New Eden: Rebirth’s first public release comes with a host of new feature, including a visual overhaul that should make the game’s already impressive battles even flashier, as Eve Online’s ship designs trade shots. Textures have been overhauled and players are also treated to a new economy system.
The developer also notes that it has removed DLC dependency, improved the title’s AI and performance, implemented memory usage optimizations, alongside other necessary changes.
