Is Skater XL crossplay available at launch? Does Skater XL feature cross-platform support that allows you to play with friends on other platforms?
Skater XL’s full version has now released, bringing an end to the drought of skateboarding games on PC. But given the competitive nature of the sport, is Skater XL crossplay support in at launch?
The answer to that question is a simple no. Although Skater XL revitalizes the skateboarding genre, it does not support cross-platform play at launch and there’s a good reason for it.
Skater XL Crossplay
Skater XL crossplay is not available currently because the title does not support any form of multiplayer, launching as an exclusively singleplayer game.
Although players can use a mod to enable multiplayer in Skater XL it does not seem to enable crossplay.
Whether or not multiplayer and Skater XL cross-platform play will come at some point in the future remains to be seen. We’ll keep an eye out and update this post with any new info.
In other skateboarding news, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remastered is also set to launch in September, making 2020 a good year for enthusiasts of the genre.
