During its CES presentation, Sony revealed that it is adapting more video games into films, with adaptations planned for Helldivers 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn.
“I’m excited to announce we are working with Sony Pictures on developing a film adaptation of our amazingly popular PlayStation game, Helldivers 2,” said Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions, during the keynote speech at CES 2025.
Both films are in the “early stages” of development, with Columbia Pictures helping out with Horizon Zero Dawn. “Just imagine Aloy’s beloved origin story set in a vibrant far future world filled with the giant machines brought to you for the first time on the big screen,” added Qizilbash.
Little else was said about the projects, although we expect it to be sometime before we see trailers or any information on a release date.
The next series of The Last of Us is set to premiere in April on HBO and Max, with seven episodes filmed. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return.
