Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 continues marching forward with a solid content roadmap for 2024 and 2025. While we’re currently awaiting a specific release date for the premium Dark Angels chapter pack, Season 2 is now introducing a brand-new piece of playable content in the form of the Neo-Volkite pistol, which will allow you to burn the Imperium’s enemies to a crisp.
If you’re looking for the latest updates on Season 3, its potential release window, and what it may include, we’ve got you covered here. In the meantime, you can check out some of the best Space Marine 2 mods we’ve found so far.
Space Marine 2 introduces the Neo-Volkite pistol
Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have just shared a hard-hitting trailer to introduce the Neo-Volkite Pistol, a new sidearm that will only be available in the Operations mode for now, as the team continues “to experiment with balancing in PvP.” Chances are it’ll make its way into the player-versus-player modes later, but right now, you can only use it against Xenos and heretics.
You can watch the trailer, which runs for under one minute, below:
The Neo-Volkite pistol can be used by the Assault, Vanguard, and Bulwark classes, and is said to be a solid performer regardless of the distance between your Marine and those pesky enemies.
The weapon’s unique feature is that it blasts a “heat-ray” onto enemies, increasing the damage over time before generating “a localised explosion for huge damage to your target and all nearby enemies,” so it definitely sounds like a great pick to clear huge groups of weaker foes.
