Almost six years after launch, Stellaris continues to be a core game in Paradox Interactive’s portfolio. As it continues to grow through both paid expansions and free patches, players are naturally wondering what its 3.4 Cepheus update release date might be.
Stellaris’ 3.4 patch comes after the Custodian initiative launched. It saw the grand strategy game’s development team split into two, one half focusing on paid expansion content while another works on releasing free patches every 3 months or so. This gives us a good sense of when its release date might occur.
Since the Libra patch went live in late February, we initially expected Stellaris’ Cepheus 3.4 update’s release date to occur at some point in late May or the first part of June.
- Stellaris 3.4 Update release date: May 12
Responding to a forum member who had a similar estimation, Game Designer Eladrin said it was “pretty accurate,” one advantage of the development team split being a fairly regular patch cadence.
On April 21, publisher Paradox Interactive confirmed that Stellaris’ Cepheus 3.4 patch had locked down its release date to May 12. It will accompany the Overlord expansion, which brings big changes to the game’s vassalization mechanics and more.
