It didn’t take long for the first Tomb Raider I-III Remastered mods to appear following the trilogy’s launch. Developer’s Aspyr work already revitalized the aging classics but, as always, the titles’ PC fans have taken it upon themselves to provide further tweaks.
The early days of this particular modding community bring us a variety of visual changes that improve texture quality, alter Lara’s attire, and more. Below, we highlight several mods that caught our eye.
The First Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Mods
The first entry on our list of Tomb Raider Trilogy Remastered mods makes it easier to spot the key in the first game’s Ancient Cistern by replacing its original grey color with a yellowish brown that stands out better against the grey floor.
If you want to go all-in on nostalgia, a different mod brings back the original medpack colors.
Another improves the first game’s animal textures, primarily focusing on heads. More realistic isn’t the best way to describe the results, but if you thought the original result was a bit too goofy, you might find the new versions to be more fitting.
Those playing through the trilogy using a controller can now force the game to display PlayStation controller icons.
On the more cosmetic side of things, this hair collection mod lets you play as a grey or blue-haired Lara.
Lastly, those adamant about giving in-game weapons the names of their real-life counterparts haven’t been forgotten.
More Tomb Raider I-III Remastered mods will likely follow this first set. Even if they don’t include the inevitable Thomas the Tank Engine mod just yet, the picks above should help you tweak some aspects of your experience you may otherwise find lacking.
