The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is the next project that the developers of critically-acclaimed and fan-favourite Until Dawn are working on, and considering their track record, and the fact that The Dark Pictures is coming to PC, it's only natural for us to be excited at the prospect of this title.
The very first promotional video for Man of Medan following its announcement trailer is a developer diary concentrating on the setting of the game - a massive Ghost Ship through which the protagonists will unwillingly be trudging.
Supermassive Games, the developers of The Dark Pictures Anthology are very invested in creating a believably terrifying environ for our protagonists to contend with, and so, they've sent out developers on vessels similar to the one featured in Man of Medan to take pictures and audio for replication.
This sort of meticulousness has resulted in various types of sound reverberation, which changes depending on where they are made, and varies from one room to another. Great care has also been taken to the detailing of the ship, with many special particularities of its contemporaries lovingly recreated to deliver the most terrifying experience possible.
