Titanfall 2 got a small update today, but don’t get too excited.
Like all EA games housed on its Origin service, Titanfall 2 has been updated to work through the new EA Launcher instead. Bit of a non-story on the surface, but the patch has caused issues for those still keeping the game’s candle aflame.
Players can't connect to Titanfall 2 online servers, again...
Among reports of the game being inaccessible are accounts of the EA Launcher preventing the unofficial Northstar from running. Northstar is the community alternative to the EA DDOS servers, and many rely on it to play the game properly, so that’s a rather unfortunate side effect.
Things may get ironed out in time, but for now, it’s only going to speed up Titanfall 2’s eventual demise. After Apex Legends gave it a new lease of life, it’s a shame it’s been dealt a blow thanks to the fickle nature of online services.
