Multiple main characters are a staple of developer Supermassive Games’ titles and, if you’re not one to play horror games by yourself, you’ll be happy to hear that The Quarry will launch with co-op support.
Telling the story of nine camp counselors who must survive their last day at camp after bloodthirsty locals and strange creatures start hunting them, you won’t have to face these horrors by yourself thanks to The Quarry’s two multiplayer modes.
The Quarry Co-Op Support
Kicking things off is The Quarry’s local multiplayer mode, which revolves around a more traditional take on co-op. Players choose one or more counselors and pass the controller around when it’s their turn to investigate environments and take decisions that push the story forward.
In addition, The Quarry also features an online multiplayer mode that allows you to invite up to seven other friends to not just watch your playthrough but also vote on key decisions.
- The Quarry co-op support status: Local co-op available at launch; online multiplayer mode coming on July 8
Although both were initially planned to be available upon release, developer Supermassive Games has announced that The Quarry’s online mode has been postponed until July 8.
Both of the Quarry’s multiplayer modes allow the group to partake in and shape its story, ultimately determining which characters make it out alive.

The Quarry is set to launch on June 10 and headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.
