It’s looking quite likely that Total War: Warhammer 3 will be getting Chaos Dwarfs DLC at some point in the future. The faction’s inclusion in the trilogy’s final entry and its release date were speculated upon long before launch and continue to remain a hot topic as the race pack remains shrouded in mystery.
Total War: Warhammer 3’s Chaos Dwarfs DLC release date wasn’t officially addressed by developer Creative Assembly until just before its official announcement, yet signs were already pointing towards the Dawi-Zharr becoming part of the trilogy’s roster of factions even before that.

Total War: WARHAMMER III - Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is now available on Fanatical for £16.39/$17.99.
Datamined files found after the game’s launch highlighted advisor voice lines expressly mentioning Chaos Dwarfs, both from the perspective of a player who picked them and another of the game’s races for their playthrough.
They both reference the race’s cruelty and ruthlessness, which is very much in line with their background in Warhammer Fantasy lore.
Another sign pointing towards Warhammer 3’s Chaos Dwarfs race pack came in the shape of a loading screen that mentions Daemon Forges, Hashut – the patron god of the Chaos Dwarfs – and slaves.
While the quote itself might just be added for flavor, it’s also possible that it could provide a hint about the race’s mechanics.
Needless to say, Total War: Warhammer III’s Chaos Dwarfs DLC release date didn’t occur in 2022.
In an article from late October 2022, the developer did reveal that the update 3.0 is slated to go live at some point in Q2 2023. It’s possible that Total War: Warhammer III’s Chaos Dwarfs race pack will accompany it.

In March 2023, the official Total War Twitter account shared a short video that further points towards the Dawi-Zharr joining the grand strategy game’s roster of playable factions.
Although it’s just six seconds long, it features at least one Mark of Chaos alongside what seems to be enslaved Gnoblars all in a forge-type of environment.
Towards the end, the spiked gauntlet of what’s presumably a Chaos Dwarf gripping a weapon appears on the screen. The video is named “The Forges are lit…,” and its description mentions Khazalid, the language spoken by the dwarfs.
One day later, Creative Assembly unveiled the Total War: Warhammer 3 Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs Campaign Pack, confirming that the race will start setting the world aflame on April 13, 2023.
The wait isn’t long now and, thankfully, Immortal Empires as well as periodic updates can easily keep us busy in the meantime.
