What’s the expected release date for the Nintendo Switch port of Hades 2? The game has entered early access and is available on Steam for £24.99.
Supergiant Games has not shared much about the console versions yet, as their development efforts are currently concentrated on the early access release for PC on Steam. However, once the game exits early access, it is expected to launch on Nintendo Switch.
Hades 2 Nintendo Switch Release Date
The original game was in early access for about two years. It started in December 2018 and officially launched in its complete form in September 2020.
We would assume that Hades 2 will follow the same sort of development time frame, so it’s possible we won’t see a Nintendo Switch version until 2025.
Speaking in a recent interview with PC Gamer, Hades 2 creative director Greg Kasavin said that he expects the early access period to last at least a year; “at least through the end of this year”.
“In the short run, we plan to deploy at least a couple of relatively small patches to improve parts of the game where we can think of short-term improvements that alleviate issues we’ve heard from some players, while hopefully making the game even better for those already pleased with it,” said Kasavin in the Interview.
“Then, we’ll focus on our first Major Update, which will take us several months during which the game won’t be updated. This Major Update will include new features, locations, foes, and other content. Then we’ll patch that a few times to shore up any issues, and repeat this broader process… until we consider the game complete! We expect to be in early access at least through the end of this year.”
We therefore think it won’t be released on console platforms until at least early to mid-2025.

“We will do our best to conduct the Technical Test as expeditiously as possible, then launch in Early Access, at which point the game will be available for anyone to purchase and play.” said a spokesperson last month when announcing the Technical Test, which took place to gather feedback for Hades 2’s launch in early access.
If we hear anything official, or if Supergiant Games makes any comments on X or Discord, we will keep you posted about its plans.
You can find Hades 2 on Steam.
