Will Titan Forge Games wipe or reset the Smite 2’s servers after the 24/7 closed alpha? Smite 2 will begin its Closed Alpha Test on August 27. Although the action MOBA RPG will be free-to-play upon its official release, access to the alpha requires purchasing one of the three Founder’s Editions.
Once the 24/7 closed alpha for Smite 2 concludes and the game officially launches as a free-to-play MOBA RPG, players might worry about losing their progress or the servers being wiped for a fresh start. However, there is no need to worry - progress will not be reset, and the servers will remain intact, so players will keep all their items and characters.
Titan Forge Games confirmed that the servers wouldn’t be wiped or reset in the most recent patch notes, giving us all a sigh of relief.
You may have missed it, but the confirmation reads as follows:
Closed Alpha will go online and be playable 24/7 starting on August 27th. We currently do not have a firm release time but are targeting to have servers live and available for play by 3pm Eastern. From that point on, all progress and account item ownership will be permanent.
That’s good news, all progress from the 24/7 Closed Alpha will continue once Smite 2 releases, which will likely happen in 2025.
