Fatshark announced today that the Xbox One version of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be released on 11th July, 2018, but will it support Crossplay?
There have already been a million copies of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 sold, but players are now wondering if the game will support Crossplay when it launches for the Xbox One, and later for the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed by the developers that Vermintide 2 won’t support Cross-platform play.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Crossplay Support
According to a developer on the Official Steam Forums, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will not support cross-platform multiplayer.
“No, we will not have cross-platform multiplayer.” said Robin Hagblom, technical director at Fatshark.
The official Twitter account was also more clear on why it can’t be done, explaining that it’s due to PC lobbies on Steam. “Unfortunately no, we use steam lobbies on PC and the Xbox multiplayer architecture on Xbox One, so they’re not compatible”.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 does have Modding Support though, so there will be plenty of content to come from both the community and Fatshark in the months ahead.
