World of Warcraft has had both highs and lows over the years but is still going strong almost two decades after its initial launch. With its divisive Shadowlands expansion coming to a close, players are looking forward to the patch 10.0 release date, which happens to be the pre-patch that heralds the arrival of its next expansion.
World of Warcraft’s patch 10.0 release date will likely occur one month before the launch of the MMORPG’s next expansion. It will act as Dragonflight’s pre-patch that introduces a number of more important system changes, giving players time to get used to them, alongside an event of sorts that acts as a narrative bridge between Shadowlands and whatever comes next.
World of Warcraft Patch 10.0 Release Date
Blizzard didn’t immediately share details about World of Warcraft’s patch 10.0 release date, but we now finally have the full picture.
After Wrath of the Lich King’s launch, expansions stuck to a consistent release cycle, coming out every two years. While Legion and Battle for Azeroth arrived in August, Shadowlands ended up delayed until November, releasing closer to the pre-Legion expansions.
The developer has confirmed that WoW: Dragonflight aims to go live in late November 2022. It later revealed that patch 10.0’s release date is set to occur on October 25/October 26, depending on your region

Shadowlands Season 4 will tide us over until WoW’s patch 10.0 launches.
WoW: Dragonflight’s pre-patch will be deployed in two phases. Initially, players will have access to the reworked talent system and UI, accessibility features like “press and hold” spellcasting or gamepad support, and Rated Solo Shuffle. In addition, the rogue, priest, and mage classes will become available to all races on October 25.
Later, on November 15, pre-patch phase two begins, introducing the Dracthr Evoker alongside The Forbidden Reach, which is the new race/class’ starting area. A new dungeon, Uldaman: Legacy of Ty, will also be made available, alongside the Primal Storms in-game event.
When Dragonflight arrives, we’ll get to set foot on the Dragon Isles and take part in the full leveling experience while seeing where the MMORPG’s story is headed to next.
This wraps up all the key details you need to know about WoW’s patch 10.0 release date.
