This August, World of Warcraft: The War Within kicks off The Worldsoul Saga, an ambitious narrative arc that will span the MMORPG’s next three expansions. Shortly after its launch, Season 1’s release date gives us a slate of new content that will test our skills and help us take our first steps towards unraveling Xal’atath’s plans.
Structurally, WoW: The War Within Season 1 treads familiar ground, its content offering promising enough to keep both PvE and PvP enthusiasts busy for the next couple of months.

World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 1 start date is currently expected to arrive on September 10, 2024, as confirmed by Blizzard.

Its end date has yet to be announced, but we expect it to happen before the end of the year, potentially in December.

World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 1 Content
In terms of content, World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 1 makes Mythic 0 dungeons, Heroic Seasonal dungeons, and its associated PvP Season available as soon as it launches while also refreshing the Mythic+ dungeon rotation.
As with the previous expansion, we’ll be treated to four new dungeons and four that belong to past releases.

- City of Threads (new)
- The Stonevault (new)
- The Dawnbreaker (new)
- Mists of Tirna Scithe (Shadowlands)
- The Necrotic Wake (Shadowlands)
- Siege of Boralus (Battle for Azeroth)
- Grim Batol (Cataclysm)
WoW: The War Within Season 1’s release date also opens the Heroic difficulty and Raid Finder Wing 1 of the new Nerub-ar Palace raid, allowing us to chase new class tier sets. In addition, the following new world bosses will spawn across the expansion’s zones.
- Kordac, the Dormant Protector
- Aggregation of Horrors
- Shurrai, Atrocity of the Undersea
- Orta, the Broken Mountain
Furthermore, Delves of tier 4 and above also become available on September 10 alongside a new seasonal delve.
On September 17, Mythic raid difficulty and Mythic+ dungeons unlock. Those seeking a more relaxing PvE experience can look forward to Raid Finder Wing 2 and the freshly introduced Story Mode version of raids on the same day.
Raid Finder Wing 3 then opens on September 24. It’s possible that we might see some small class tweaks here and there, although the bulk of those went live during pre-patch.
