Goat Simulator Studio Invests In A New Developer - Lavapotion - To Develop A PC/Tablet Strategy Game
Nobody can escape Goat Simulator. What started off as a clear jab at the growing popularity of arbitrary simulation games, Coffee Strain hit the jackpot with their crude joke. So much so that they're able to invest in a new start-up - Lavapotion.
Goat Simulator's heroic lead could be jetpacking his way into DotA 2
Coffee Stain Studios is trying valiantly to make the world a better place - specifically by adding the humble caprine protagonist from Goat Simulator into Valve's mega-popular MOBA Dota 2, via the Steam Workshop. Specifically our goat hero would act as a custom courier, rather than a hero, carrying valuable items to and fro from your team's base.
Goat Simulator MMO in tribute to Diablo's fabled 'cow level'
Back in a time when games weren't entirely mastered by eagle-eyed Youtubers around thirty minutes after launch, Diablo's fabled cow level was one of the greatest gaming myths, the forerunner to GTA: San Andreas' missing Sasquatch. Goat Simulator's recent, and breathtakingly silly, MMO update has paid tribute to this storied saga with an entire level of cows walking upright and shooting lasers out of their eyes.
Goat Simulator takes on the MMO genre in free update
I might not personally be spending a lot of time with Goat Simulator, but I'm still sort of glad that it's out there mocking every single video game trope you can think of. The latest free update turns developer Coffee Stain's satirical (sort of, but mainly amusingly stupid) eye on to the humble MMO, poking fun at overfamiliar mechanics and lazy game design.
