Codemasters will release an HD texture pack for the PC version of racing title Grid Autosport when the game launches, and the good news is it will be free to download.
The HD texture pack ”will increase the visual fidelity of the liveries and car exteriors.” The team say they “wanted to make the pack optional as the 4K textures included will be a small hit on your performance, so instead of bumping up the minimum specs for everyone we thought we’d leave the decision in your own hands.”
”Alongside this,” continues the post on Codemaster’s blog, ”we will be supporting GRID Autosport with various bits of downloadable content. It was an area you gave us lots of feedback on in GRID 2 and this feedback has been at the heart of our content plans.”
Future DLC will come in two main flavours; Car Packs will, you guessed it, add new cars, while Mini-Expansions will be themed content packs based around ”a selection of new locations”, which will add new cars, tracks and even game modes.
There will be a Season Pass available, but there’s no concrete details on that just yet. GRID Autosport is out in North America today, with the European version set to release this Friday 27.
