DRM-free champions GOG are now throwing their GOG Galaxy Client to the open beta masses to poke and prod. It’s a DRM-free platform that’s launching as an alternative to Steam and EA’s Origin.
Until now only a select number were involved during its alpha testing. It features its own built-in store and game library, which supports one-click installs, backup downloads, optional updates with rollback too.
Being free of DRM it will of course support being offline. New features to GOG Galaxy are multiplayer matchmaking, achievements, game-tracking stats, crossplay and soon its own in-game overlay. Community includes friends, chatting and soon game invites.
