With the release of Star Wars Battlefront II now confirmed for November 19, all eyes are on EA to fix what was a questionable - if not promising - revival in 2015. They're starting off with a potential abolishment of the Season Pass.
After a well-received reveal years ago, fans of the Star Wars franchise were just glad to see the Star Wars Battlefront return from its PlayStation 2 era days.Though the revival didn't stick as well as they'd hoped, EA and DICE are taking measures to pick things up with the sequel.
According to Mashable the details are a little hazy at the minute, but Bernd Diemer, creative director of Battlefront II said, in clear words, "We don't have a season pass." He didn't go so far as to clarify what this could mean for the DLC plans of the highely anticipated shooter sequel, but he tried his best. " For this type of game, season passes are not the best thing. We need to [take it apart] and come up with something better."

The 2015 revival of the Battlefront name saw the game release around the same time as Star Wars: The Force Awakens with its final DLC turning up around the time of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story the following year. By that time, most had moved on from the sparse offerings of the base game leaving those with the year's DLC offerings living in a ghost town. EA appears to have taken notice and hopes to shake-up the standard DLC offerings this time around.
While it's seemingly too early to shed any clear light on the subject, it seems the Season Pass is dead with this one - in the traditional sense, at least. Whether DLC will still be offered individually is yet to be know, but they're planning something to help stop the fragmentation of the game in the long-run.
