After a lengthy chat with Mario Mikohovic of Starpoint Gemini Warlords, we're starting to learn more of Little Green Men Games' plans for the future.
Starpoint Gemini Warlords hit Early Access just over a year go now on April 14, 2017. Since then, we've moved from build v0.500 to the current beta stage of v0.900. Release is set for May 23; but there's still a few lingering questions to get out of the way.
With release close at hand, it's only natural we'd start to wonder whether we'd be left out in the starts post-launch or given a plethora of updates long after our maiden voyage. Thankfully, we were able to speak to the game's lead developer to ask the all important question.
Starpoint Gemini Warlords Enters Playable Beta With An Official Launch Date Set For May 23
Though only lightly touching on the subject, Mario Mikohovic outlined the opportunity to add "ships, missions, and more" in the future. Speaking of the past, however, when the team re-created the 60-hour story of the original Starpoint Gemini into its sequel, Mario said "I don’t know if we’d create another six-month long project like that for Starpoint Gemini Warlords, but we’ve certainly been talking and plotting our next steps. "
Of course, most of the talks are likely preliminary ideas until the community goes hands-on with the finished product. By that time, suggestions will start to surge and Little Green Men Games will have a more solid idea of what to offer back to the players in terms of additional content. Better that than simple guesswork.
