Published by Ghost Ship Games and developed by Northplay, Dinolords is a real-time strategy game with action-RPG elements that explores a slightly different, more dino-fueled version of the invasion of England. Dinolords Release Date
Dinolords is currently expected to enter Steam Early Access at some point in Q2 2025. According to the developer its stay “might last a year or more,” depending on the community’s support and how long it takes to bring the game to a level of quality and amount of content that makes everyone happy.
The Q2 2025 release date was confirmed during Ghost Ship Publishing’s On the Horizon 2024 event.
Dinolords Story
Although rooted in our world’s history, Dinolords has a different take on events that occurred in our past. Aside from knowledge and glory, Eric The Red’s voyage to Greenland also gifted him a batch of dinosaur eggs.
After using dinos to build Greenland’s settlements, he brought them back to Scandinavia, where they were domesticated, then bred for war.
Danish king Sweyn Forkbeard spared little thought before using them in his invasion of England, which would become the first dinosaur-powered conflict in history.
With the odds stacked against Æthelred the Unready, he sends his son, Edmund Ironside, to help defend the kingdom and find a way to deal with this newfound threat.
Dinolords Gameplay
In Dinolords, we take on the role of a lord, being tasked with building a thriving medieval settlement – from its first humble houses to imposing fortifications – and fending off the invading Danes.
While this alone sounds fairly standard for a title based on medieval history, Dinolords’ Danes have not only learned to harness the power of dinosaurs but also thought that strapping armor onto the beasts is a sound idea.
To prepare ourselves against this threat, we’ll need to gather resources, hunt, and tame our surroundings. As more villagers join our cause, constructing specialist buildings is a key way to keep them happy and willing to try their hand at punching armored dinos.
We’ll control our lord in real-time while commanding our troops to man the ramparts and deal with foes on the ground, in what the developer calls “a brew that’s both nostalgic and entirely new.”
Dinolords Storefronts and Price
Dinolords is currently headed to PC via Steam Early Access. Its price has yet to be announced, but we should hear more about it as we get closer to launch.
