Publisher and developer 11 bit studios today shared a roadmap for society survival sim Frostpunk 2, outlining plans for patches, DLC, and a console release throughout 2025 and beyond.
The title has already received several hotfixes that addressed issues and introduced quality of life changes, and will also see patch 1.2, which “implements various gameplay and interface changes,” launching before the end of 2024.
Frostpunk 2 Roadmap
As we head into 2025, the first stop on Frostpunk 2’s roadmap is one of several free major content updates that “will significantly impact your overall experience with the game.” Afterwards, the title’s long-awaited console version is also scheduled to release.
Two of three planned DLCs – bearing the codenames Spectrum and Aurora – will also launch during the year, with a third slated to arrive in 2026.
Each “will add something completely new to the harsh world of Frostpunk 2,” the developer said, before explaining that these plans “are only part of what’s to come.”
- Patch 1.2 (2024)
- Free Major Content Update (2025)
- Console Release (2025)
- Spectrum DLC (2025)
- Aurora DLC (2025)
- DLC 3 (2026)
At the least, we can expect more hotfixes and a variety of improvements to gradually be deployed over the coming months.
As work on the updates, console version, and DLCs continues, the developer will dive into specific details and update Frostpunk 2’s roadmap.
In our review, I found that the sequel’s “city building and society management layers aren’t particularly deep on their own but fuse into a cohesive whole that grips you soon after you arrive in its frozen wasteland.”
Frostpunk 2 is available now on PC.
